Since I have been on this site, I have noticed that no 2 people are on the same (and sometimes not even similar) drug regimes. Why?Adrian

We were once told that no 2 people with Parkinsons has exactly the same symptoms, hence everyone being on different meds .

I agree with Debbie. Because symptoms are so diverse, everyone has to find a routine and drug that suits them. What helps one person. does not always suit another. I have tried a number of different meds, but hope the present one will help me for the time being.

Thanks to you both. Must be a nightmare for the Docs, trying to remember which one does what with who.

It took about a year to find the right combination for my husband,as there are so many ,it is just trial and error, then its finding the right dose. Then as your symptoms progress so the meds alter as they may not work as well as they did.

I agree. Talk to someone else with PD and their symptoms are not exactly the same or have a different degree of involvement. While my husband doesn't have freezes, he says he feels like his legs are made of cement and he moves very slowly. This symptom has been getting worse so it is one we will discuss with his Movement Disorder Specialist. He has been on the same meds for a long time so I am thinking his regimen will be changing.

I agree no two are the same. I have PD but I have four children three of which had Muscular dystrophy. My three with MD all have the same form of MD but each child is different is how the MD affects them so I'm use to the responding differently. I think all diseases are this way.

My doctor says "if you meet 100 people with PD, you've seen 100 different PD symptom combinations." No drug regimines are likely the same, as they should tailor them to your ADL and prescribe the right dosages with the intervals that match your regular schedule.
