Like I said in the past drug companys in the great USA are in only for PROFITS

so they have lobbyist in Wash. DC to make sure they coutinue making them !

Surely it doesn't matter where the research takes place? Much research undertaken outside the USA is funded by organisations such as MJFF for which I am eternally grateful.

Drug companies are businesses: they make profits or go bust. That is universal. There may be debate over the scale of profits or the ethics of research practices but without research there would be no new developments.

In addition to the other comments, don't minimize the impact of political influence on where the research $ goes and how it is spent. Remember the stem cell research controversy which has been raging for at least 12 years. Hard to be a leader in I&R or anything when you have to fight your own Government to fund the work needed to get a viable product on the market.

Thanks for that - it's easy to lose sight of the bigger picture in our quest for better treatments & a cure. I can't bring to mind a national leader, past or present, who was was a PwP.
