I’ve got friends who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and found that they have acquired fantastic new talents!

I am discovering that there is much more to the person struggling with Parkinson's than the diagnosis itself.
This is not bragging. It is only when your back is to the wall and you stop spending all your time trying to make a buck t put food on the table, that you are forced to do things that are good for your health, instead of you pocket.
Since being diagnosed with Pd I have been able to learn how to paint, quite successfully; and write and publish books, quite successfully.
I was quite successful before being diagnosed but nobody will remember me for those successes.
Yes, I write poetry and I've found that my artistic side is the new me, and despite all the nasties of PD, I'm more comfortable as an 'Outsider Artist' than I ever was as a Contact Lens Optician.
Good for you! Remaining positive, and concentrating on what you can do, not on what you might have lost, can open new talents that are beneficial!
