Can I reverse my Parkinson's condition?

I wish I could say yes but I don't think so. I have never held any faith in reversing PD. Having said that, the pace of getting downhill is very individual and the downhill track is not at a constant slope. For me, my goal is to maintain the status quo to the longest time and enjoy the most when I am able to move freely ( Madopar is the Rescue).

you can slow the progression if you are young and at early stage.

I think +we can slow it a little. The only way i know of is to exercise almost every day. When i say exercise i mean hard long and including aerobic, weight lifting, and stretching like yoga. When you finish you should be laying on the floor hoping to just catch your breath. I did Crossfit for 3 years and i improved my life at least 90%. I stopped about a year ago and i still feel the effects of those 3 years. I am 64 215 lbs 6ft 2 in. When i stopped doing Crossfit (i would still be doing Crosfit but my gym closed and i need to save a little money $160 a month plus gas is a lot ) i could deadlift 415 pounds (188.24 kg) i could run 2 miles. I did one routine called murf which is

1 mile Run

100 Pull-ups

200 Push-ups

300 Squat

1 mile run

for time. I can't do the pull ups so i did ring rows .

The last time i did it it took me 45 minutes and i ran 3 more miles with the next group. The good and young people do it with a 25 lb (11.34kg) vest on.

After my diagnosis 7 years ago, I came to realize that Parkinson's disease is simply the form of old age that God decided I should have.

I deal with Parkinson's just like you, plenty of exercise stretching meditating relaxing and enjoying the rest of my life.

Absolutely totally agree better your glass is half full

I have completed year one very satisfied. Stopped the progression and suppressed the symptoms. See my profile.

I'm not sure what is happening with me. The 2 things that were causing me stress and anxiety (which I believe brought on my Parkinson's) have all but gone from my life. I had a tremor in my right hand/arm. I become slow in movement on my right side. I started to drool when I was asleep (not very nice), I had trouble walking when I first got up and had back pain from bad posture. I now have a slight tremor on the rare occasion, usually when I am stressed. My back no longer aches and I walk easily when I get out of bed. I am better than I was earlier this year.

I walk 6.2kms in an hour 4 days per week, attend a weekly exercise class with stretching, balance and weights. I exercise at home on an elliptical trainer and a muscle building machine randomly. I believe in the power of positive thinking and I am telling myself I am improving and next year I will be the better still. I am taking 1mg Azilect and 3 x 50mg Madopar per day. I can get by without the Madopar, but I am better with it.

Arathi, why not believe you can.

I know that sometimes my symptoms are better and sometimes they are worse, so improvement is possible! I'm focusing right now on diet. I think eating lots of vegetables and wild animals like the Paleo diet is helpful.
