Do you mean Stelevo?
Yes when the off time came quicker my doctor switched me to Entacapone 3 per day keeps me going.
My Husband takes L/D 25/250 and Entapacone 200...four times a day, He was taking Pramipexole also, but we stopped them as he was like a zombie on some days. Much better now,
Were you ever on Sinemet ? If so why did you switch Stalevo ?
My nuro just changed mine from 1.5 25/100 Sinemet 4x a day to 1 x 50/200 CR Sinemet 3 times a day and has helped reduce the dystonia in my foot. haven't really noticed any other changes. He thought i was getting a bit to much levadopa in hits that started the dystonia
Yes stalevo 200mg, was sold to me as more stable, predictable than simenet cr, it has for me not been the case. I was on 150mg x 4 + 16mg ropi, the agonist led to a breakdown, A&E (ER), suspected cardio event. Was quickly reduced over several weeks down to 10mg ropi which more or less killed the crushing anxiety attacks. They compensated for this by upping the stalevo, L.dopa element to 175mg then 200mg. Now I am on more of the 'gold-standard' ( god I hate that term) yet have no more 'on' time than before nor improved symptom control.
I'm 8yr past dx, and though bad when 'off' no worse than 5yr ago, I seriously wonder at times how much is PD and how much is PD meds making me ill.
I sincerely hope they help you friend.
Currently taking 2ea C/L ER 50/200 and 1 ea entacapone 200 4 times a day (and if I need to have a good alert day I add 200 mg of Provigil). Worked good for the last 6 months. Then last night the last dose didn't seem to take. Slept a total of 2 hours with "jangled nerves" all night.
i take sinemet 25/100 five times a day, selegiline twice, 2 mirapex and one emtacapone. Use Acopyn as needed, about 1-2 days a week. Some dyskinesia, but lead a active life. Insomnia is awful!
You and me both,I wish I'd never gone on it
Do you mean Entacapone 200Tb Are you taking Sinemet and Entacapone.
Entacapone only works with Sinemet to make it last longer it does nothing for Parkinson's if you don't take Sinemet or levadopa with it.
Taking it now. Results about the same. Taking 5 pills a day. Need to eat with it to avoid nausea.
Very expensive. $650 for 3 months. My cost.
