Dance: Hi have any of you tried the method... - Cure Parkinson's
Dance
I’m reading it. I do need To refresh myself on what he says.
I thought I had that in my PD Library, but I guess not. What is the method?
A lot of it is about feeling, being totally with the rythum and breathing , I used to love dancing and did flamenco it’s hard work getting moveing again but aparently the author has had great results over many years I’d be interested to hear from anyone who’s had success with it
Morning Park _Bear. Looks like we follow the same extrem exercise program. Weather permitting I do one hour ( off road) on my Mountain Bike followed by a 5k run twice weekly. The amount of dopamine ( feel good factor ) generated is enormous. It was good to see the results published on 10/12 /2017 of trials conducted in USA about the importance and efficacy of extreme exercise and PD. I have been trying (unsuccessfully) for 18 months to get mainstream ideas about PD away from ," medication". Maybe I have banged my head against the wall for so long that "that's the reason why my symptoms are well under control". Please note I have no medical qualifications so please do not start banging your head on the wall.
Dalcroze Eurythmics is my choice for music and exercise. It is more of a stretching type, fluid movement exercise, partnered with music, rather than heavier dancing routines. Dalcroze Eurythmics is used a lot for actors and singers in theatre, who wish to include smooth movements, as they move about, whilst performing on stage.
It's OK if you have the time and enthusiasm for regular exercise
and dance
I have been to see him..in Israel
all about moving to music with your whole body
and talking and singing in phrases eg like Sinatra ( strangers in the night etc )
Also keen on facial expressions to get rid of Parky look
Dance for PD is fabulous! It was developed in Brooklyn by the Mark Moore’s dance group and is free. You can also get CDs, excuse me DVDs, that have lessons so you can do it alone at home if you wish.
Wow. Is that "dirty dancing" for beginners. Count me in.
No dirty dancing. Just a fabulous program especially for us!
