Maybe it is not caused by the PD

I have been in a down ward spiral for over a year, no energy, no drive, done. If I dropped something on the lawn than it would stay there. A year ago if I over exerted walking 5 or 6 blocks I would get a burning pain in my chest that went away quickly. Then last week I had a much stronger pain resulting from walking one block, then again for no reason. Five days later I have 3 stints in an artery that the report says was 95 % closed. Still taking it easy but energy flows now and I am holding myself back for a bit but i was thinking maybe I will finish building that boat, and then paint the house and find the list.

So glad you got the right diagnosis.

I think we tend to blame everything on our PD.

You must feel like a new man !

I assume you are a Pd patient and you appear to be rather unfit. Are you aware that exercise can help to slow down the progression of your Pd? Do you think that because you have stints in your veins that you are unable to do exercise? If you were to consult your doctor, just to confirm that your are able to walk now, and he/she agrees that you are, then why not look at my profile and see how I have been able to improve my Pd to such an extent that I have not needed to take any Pd medication since 2002 and I live a 'normal' life again at the age of 82.

I still walk as fast as I can for one hour, three times a week and that is all I have to do to stay well. You would be advised to start walking, as fast as you can, for no more than ten minutes every second day and slowly build it up by an extra five minutes every second week until you are doing one hour. Always walk as fast as you can. That will cost you NOTHING and you will stand a good chance of get fitter and better every day.

Take control of your life, NOW. before it is too late!

John , you know about my situation only from the few lines I wrote, and yes I have PD and I am 70. The professional exercise trainers and doctors from the Geriatric ward, that I will be working with want more information to analyze what will be the best exercise routine for me . They will consider many factors, that I think you have not. No I do not fear the stints , energy is now flowing and I can walk a mile or two. I used to be an athlete and have stayed in good condition until 2 years ago.

I think I have done the best I could, controlling my life. A bacteria tried to eat my leg and killed the Lymph system and I now must wear compression socks , the bottom of my soles are almost dead in that they send no information back to the brain resulting in a lack of balance and the PD tends to make me fall over backwards. When tired my toes curl under and I can not stand up. I have arthritis in both knees and one hip and just had two prostrate surgery and wore a urinary catheter for two years, leading to many kidney infections and stones. Now a collapsed artery (apparently through no fault) Fast walking just does not work for everything and everyone every time and I am pretty sure that it will not work here . Boxing and bicycle seem interesting.

You are a fighter. I'll bet there are plenty of folks out there that have thrown in the towel for less challenges than you've dealt with. Sounds like the boxing would fit. There must be a Rock Steady affiliate somewhere near you, they're sprouting up everywhere.

A fighter ? MMMM I used to box a bit. A catholic priest taught us and when I was 16 in Milita Camp one summer , I was further coached by regular army , I became the company champion and was convinced that I would wear the battalion belt. I came from a very small rural town in central Ontario and at that time in the 60 s the world had not yet found us to point out how dumb we were . I looked up an there was the very first real black man I had ever seen with an amazing rippling body that shone. We touched gloves ,they rang the bell we did a couple circles eyeing each other up and I dropped to the floor. I never saw it coming. I know that there is no real boxing in Rock Steady, but still have a glass jaw.

It all sounded good. I just have a few more meds to take. I seems that the Drs. are afraid

that my body will reject the stints, so they take away the ability for it to do that.

One blood thinner : bruises all over , blood from hemorrhoids, blood everywhere so I stopped for a day because my Drs appointment was the next day. He may still be yelling at a me.

One Beta blocker: short of breath, bands around my chest no capability to do anything for a few hours after I take it.

One Staten Cholesterol reducer :muscle pain starts a few minutes after I takes it.

One blood pressure reducer: After I take this one I am in Pain all over.

But here is the kicker

I do not have a cholesterol problem but have known for a long time I am allergic to statin drugs. I do not have a clotting problem , in fact I am classified as a bleeder. My heart is running fine until I take the pills.

I took 10 different pills before breakfast and 3 more doses to come. The pills are killing me, my face and hands are all puffy and itchy and I sweat and have to lay down and its all because of the meds. I talked to the doctor and he said get used to it

Any body else done this????

Feeling better, getting used to the meds, I am not so winy today.

yesterday was a beautiful day , so I just sat in the back yard and talked with the neighbors maybe I just needed some rest

If Statins are causing you problems I would look into not taking them. There is some debate about whether lowering cholesterol is even worth it.

Yep everyone agrees with that, until the stints are in and then the doctors start worrying about the body rejecting them. Dr tried to convince me but he underestimated how much pain . NOT taking it , period. I will spit the stent s out first.
