I know it helped me with my stiffness. I have virtually no tremor so I can't weigh in on that issue.

This didn't work for my husband.

What does work is trihexylphenidyl hcl 2mg. Really helps with balance and his right "happy" foot. Takes 1/2 pill three times a day. Doesn't make him sleepy.

Amantadine was the first drug my neurologist gave me, 100 mg three times a day. I don't think it does much, but she still has me taking it, three years later, along with ropinirole hcl er (8 mg. three times a day) and carbidopa levodopa (25/100 three times a day). I haven't seen any effect on tremors from any of it. I'm also in a clinical trial for isradipine, but I don't know if I'm on the drug or the placebo. I neer had any bad side effects from amantadine, just don't think it did much.

Have you explored DBS? My husband was on 5 different medicines - 16 pills a day! He had DBS implanted 13 years ago! Even though it is not a cure, it has given my husband a new outlook on life.

I know that you have received several replies, but I wanted to add my 2 cents. I take one 100mg Amantadine at 6:00 AM, and another at 12:00 PM. Add to that, 25/100mg of 1 1/2 C/L x 3 p/day. I have no trouble driving - it does not make me sleepy at all. If I don't take it, my right hand has bad tremors, and my shoulders roll. When I take it, no tremors, no rolling shouldersl, and no anxiety. It works great for me!

Well i already tried sinemet and it made my tremor worse so neuro stopped it and put me on amantadine.
