Mouth noise, Parkinson's?
No but my wife does and boy do I wish I could control it.
does your wife have parkinson's?
if she does she probably wishes she could control it too.
Sorry you are new here. I am the one with Parkinson's. My attempt at humor. I am the one with the link between the mouth and the Brain which has been severely compromised.
anybody??
Hi Dmariel, As far as I know, nobody on this site can read your mind. No one can make a meaningful response until YOU spell out the details of the phenomenon, e.g., where the noise originates (throat , vocal chords, tongue, lips. etc.), whether you are inhaling or exhaling, how long it lasts, whether your jaw or vocal chords are tremoring at that time, etc. Okay? Failing that, Serenity_finally can entertain us, but is that enough for you?
why am i getting message alerts for all these comments??
Why do you ask a question, if you don't really want to receive the responses?
But you CAN shut off the alerts: click on your name in any of your posts, then click on your name again in the top margin of that page; a drop-down menu appears. Go to "Account Settings," where you'll see this
"My content and Messages
# Email me when someone responds to something I've written
# Email me when someone sends me a private message"
Uncheck the first line above , and you'll have blissful peace. You'll also alienate the people who bothered to send you a comment but find you are stonewalling them.
dmariel I'm fairly new to this website too, but this particular site is more like family. Especially ones who have had PD for years, have had hard times and then feel well enough to get back on. Friends without having ever met, and probably never will. I understand your frustration, but this illness requires a little bit of humor to get through the days and nights and sometimes there is joy in seeing a post from a buddy. And, sure, there can be private "jokes" between Parkies with similar tastes. But please give this site a chance, these are all wonderful folks. It's really scary to get the diagnosis, and we can use all the support we can get! In my case, it's my guy Ron who has PD. And I'm so happy to be here. 🤗
Lynnie, I've been on the site about 3 months. I think i'm handling my diagnosis quite well. I was happy to find this site. I've posted several questions and met a lot of people and also got a lot of answers. I thought the one man's response to my question about his wife was comical, once i realized he was joking! The other man's comment assuming that i didn't want an answer to my question was just plain ridiculous! I wouldn't have asked the question if i didn't want a response, seemed to me he was looking for someone to step on! Thanks for your comment. Have a great day!
Spoken like a true lady! Most of the folk on this site are sincere people willing to offer advice through their personal experiences or passing you on to someone who can.
Note all, I contributed NOTHING to that string of silliness.
shadesofnothing 😊 Aww, thanks! It's true! BUZZ1397 😆 Were you out that day?
I was reading and was able to determine how to write something helpful to the lady, but she was exasperated and gone before I had a chance. Smaarty pants
Hi, my mother has the same problem and it takes about 2 or 3 hours for her to releive it bother her alot and I don't know the reason of it!
We try many things such as warm steam, warm water, salbotamol speay,... But it gives temporary relief.
Any comments will be appreciated.🌷
I agree with one of the responses above that the OP needs to post more of how this noise comes about much more detail would give others a place to start in trying to help her.
