It depends on the definition of "meltdown". If you use the term to describe a crying jag I hope to never have one again but that has happened to me an unemotional person twice while an MD had me on Mirapex. Very bad drug.

Sorry.. I guess there are different types of "Meltdown"

The type i've experienced is where my body has had enough & starts to sweat & shake uncontrollably..

Is Freezing a Meltdown or an oxymoron?

If it is a panic attack YES Christmas at Costco.

Yes! Woke up one night and was such, starts to sweat & shake uncontrollably, that I had my wife take me to hospital.

Nothing they could do.

Later at the next app w/ my neurologist, he had no explanation.

My sympathies - it's very distressing.

Were you in a stressful situation? I find conflict leaves me shaking and sweating for hours. Not sure if it's the meds or the illness.

in reply to Astra7

I'm not sure either..

Just have to lie down & wait for it to pass...

No not that but that resembles I fear the consequence of abruptly quitting a Rx. Have you abruptly stopped a Rx for any reason?

in reply to BUZZ1397

No.. Meds are still the same..

I have in the past. If you mean your PD symptioms and related health issues (constipation maybe?) are suddenly spiraling out of control there are two things to do, see your doctor and check your prescriptions. Re the latter I was once given 5.0 mg tablets for a 0.5 prescription and it nearly killed me. Check your drugs!

in reply to MichaelOM

I have experienced that to.

The pharmacy gave me 3.5mg instead of 0.35mg... 10x the dose... Was frightening... Slept for nearly 48hrs only woke to be sick...

When I was first put on thyroxin whoever read the specialist letter

misunderstood the handwritten μg (greek letter m) = mcg to be mg. The pharmacist queried it but I had a right ding dong with the receptionist at the surgery who stoutly defended the mistake which persisted in my records and occasionally reared its ugly head from time to time until I changed doctors and got it clarified on the original letter.

that's what I was going to say, it happens more often than we suspect....and abrupt changes cause withdrawal symptoms....and can even kill you.

5Hamu5, I wonder if it could possibly be a side effect from a medication that had an interaction with something else? cold medicine or a food? I have minor blood sugar issues (no meds for it) from time to time and it can cause perspiring and (mild) shaking so I eat when that happens and try not to skip a meal too long. Maybe a mild form of what you experienced? Perhaps they might check blood sugar or you may monitor everything already. Here is a link that might explain what I am trying to say a little better, healthline.com/health/hypog...
