Fjohn,
Hello & welcome to this site - Parkinson's Movement. Your plea has not gone unheard but I wonder what your condition might be? Is it Parkinson's or perhaps something with similar symptoms?
The doctors at Stanford said it was Parkinsonese gave me a pill, told me to exercise. I am to see them in 3 months.
I have not taken the medication. Carpidopa/Levodopa. 2nd opinion?

Parkinsonism? Did they explain why they think you have that? Was it a neurologist you saw?
They said the diagnosis had features or symptoms of parkinsonian. I was tested for about an hour. Two neurologists did the testing.
You have asked for a second opinion, so here goes. You went to Stanford for a diagnosis, you saw two professionals presumably qualified & experienced in treating PD, they suggested you take a course of Carbidopa/Levodopa & report back to them. You have elected not to take it - do you want to know whether or not you have PD? I'm sorry this is abrupt - I am in pain for the third day running due to PD. I know this because I consulted experts 12 yrs ago, did as they suggested & got a dx which has subsequently been confirmed by MRI, Datscan etc. I hope you can take the meds & get a dx. If it turns out not to be PD you will be able to stop taking them then. Good luck.
Hi
What symptoms do you have? I didn't take the meds either as a left side tremor is my main symptom. Have just started juicing a cup of broad beansca day anyone else tried these?
Ryan,
I wasn't sure this was meant for me but as it has come through on my email I will reply anyway. I have been dxd for 12 yrs & took only Ropinirole for the 1st 2 (so I could move at all) as I wanted to use alternative or natural methods. By the end of the second year I could barely walk, my body was twisted & clawed to my affected left side & I was in constant pain. I had to give up my school headship for a less hands-on job & eventually I had to retire early. Once I started combining conventional medicine/treatments alongside the alternative therapies I made rapid progress physically & mentally. If you read some of my (many) posts on this site you will get an idea. I am still affected left side only & on good days when I can go out people seem surprised to hear that I have PD. HOWEVER that is on the good days which are on the wane but which enable me to have some good times!
Thank You for having me,
I want to apologize to any doctors I may have offended. I have no excuses.

I am sorry I was so abrupt - my intention was to make you feel welcome whilst trying to explain how frustrating it must be to the professionals trying to help us if we choose not to follow their advice. Not that we all do this all the time, but usually if we intend to take an informed decision to do something different we discuss it with them so that at the very least they are aware. If you would like information from any of us on this site it might be helpful to provide a little background information.
My psychiatrist wanted to see if the Meds would interact with my Meds. I have 12 prescribed.
My fault ....

Honey, good responses , well done
Fjohn, hope you continue to post
Hi GymBag,
Thanks for the feedback. 'Honey' is very apt for me - my husband is a beefarmer. At our local farmers' markets I am 'Mrs Honey'.
How are your eyes. If you can look up and down with no problems you don't have Psp.
