I understand in advanced stages of PD it is common to need help with everyday things , but not in early stages , which it would seem your husband is in , if only just diagnosed . My husband was diagnosed 3 years ago , tho in hindsight we realise he had PD for many years before diagnosis . He walks every day , which he finds is very helpful , we eat very clean & he takes supplements . Only meds is Sinamet , we have found any additional meds just add horrible side effects

sinamet is one of the better meds in my opinion maybe a

little higher dose is needed ask your dr about it

i take 2 25/100 every 4 hours 5 times a day

i am almost symptom free all day

if he can increase his exercise

it will help

I've had Pd for a while now and recently my symptoms had worsened somewhat so that I was under medicated. I needed help with dressing - it's a bad day that begins by being out-witted by a pair of socks. I also had the problem that once a dose had worn off I'd take 1 minute 40 seconds to pull up and do up my trousers after a visit to the loo. That time is roughly the time for a top athlete to run 800m! After a dose it was 14 seconds.

Do you have a Parkinson's Nurse Specialist to contact? I do and she is brilliant. Between her and my consultant we've sorted it out.

Don't struggle on ask the experts for help!

please don't be swayed by the anti med people

meds are a good thing

even better with intense exercise

it took me 8 years to find the right combination

i am 9 years with PD and better now than 5 years ago

i am 62

All normal Alice.

Rarely my wife needs to help me dress but getting the bed covers over me at bedtime is helpful. My right arm is very weak.
