My wife was having issues with high blood pressure (from hardening of Arteries) and she started taking serrapeptase by Vitamin Research Products along with CoQMax by True Health (both are on Amazon). From what I've read, it's more effective when taken together with CoQ10, something about more effective transport to where it's needed. At any rate, she just went to the Doctors and the Doctor says she doesn't have to go on Blood Pressure medicine. (6 months ago she was told she would need High Blood Pressure Meds if her numbers didn't improve).

Now, with that said, Serrapeptase is great at removing Non-Living tissue, like Plaque in Arteries. From what I understand Secondary amyloidosis is a condition where you have abnormal proteins build up in tissues and organs as you're describing that has happened to your Dad. These "amyloid deposits" are caused by another disease or situation, like some sort of chronic infection or chronic inflammatory disease. (If it were Primary amyloidosis, it means there is no disease causing the condition). Since the amyloid deposits may still be "Living" I'm not sure if Serrapeptase would be a good solution for this particular problem.

The best case, would be to figure out a way to eliminate the disease that is causing these amyloid deposits. I would consider taking Iodine. Before the days of Antibiotics, Iodine was effectively used to treat all sorts of diseases, including Syphilis and Skin Lesions. Back then they used 3,000 to 9,000 mg per treatment, whereas most doctors will tell you that 300-900 MICROGRAMS (1000th of a Milligram) is what you should be taking daily! The reason they believe this is because of a 1948 study (which has NEVER been replicated) alleging what is known as the "Wolff-Chaikoff" effect, theoretically hypothyroidism could occur as a result of excess iodine. This study indicated a decreased dosage to 2 milligrams daily would be safer, still almost 10X higher than the USRDA.

The problem with this study, other than the fact that it's never been Peer Reviewed, nor replicated before being accepted as Gospel, is that on the Island of Okinawa off the coast of Japan, Millions of Japanese on that Island ingest 13.5mg a day of Iodine, or nearly 7X what this study called "Safe", and yet they're literally the healthiest people on the planet. Not only living a decade longer than us on average, but MUCH healthier with far less chronic conditions.

Personally, I've been taking 50mg a day of Potassium Iodate by Vitamin Research for the past 2 years and at nearly 50, I have LESS chronic pain than when I was 40 and no longer suffer from Chronic Migraine, Back Pain and Stomach Pain and Muscle Pain. Iodine causes Cell "Apoptosis" or Cell Death of Diseased Cells, which is why I think this will help your dad.

Not sure iodine was ever an effective treatment for syphilis!

Beware of drawing conclusions from studies comparing length of life from very disparate populations and attributing the results to just one factor such as iodine intake. There must be many different factors that differ between the two such as relative calorie intake, relative fast food intake, relative proportion of fish in the diet, not to mention access to health care etc.

I'm a student of History and I've read several old medical journals along with very early research on many items and YES, Iodine was an effective treatment for Syphilis, (at around 3 to 9K mg a day for 2 to 6 months and would sometimes render the person sterile) though it took MUCH longer than Anti-Biotics take today.

My point is that if Iodine is as dangerous as our physicians here would have you believe, wouldn't we see these effects on the Japanese Population, considering that they're taking an average that is nearly 7X higher than this study drew as it's conclusion to be safe?

Both my Mother and Wife had SEVERE breast pain, diagnosed as "Fibromyalgia", a throwaway diagnosis if I ever heard one. The only thing the doctors would prescribe was pain killers. After just 2 months of 50mg a day of Potassium Iodate and neither one feels any breast. My wife is 45 and my mother 82.

...diagnosed as "Fibromyalgia", .... Plus Polymyalgia Rheumatica. That is my wife. I will share your comment.

Thank you very much for your answer,my father back in 2004 developed a infection on his left knee bones after a operation, since then amyloidosis proteins start to build up in his organs, the most affected are the heart and his left lung.He is under treatment, but the problem now is that he constantly develops water on his left lung, the medics said to us that is no treatment for amyloidosis...i know he is verry sick but i'm looking for a solution to ease his pain.Thank you again, and all the best!
