On a lighter note.......

They say bad news travels fast so here is some good news about travel. I applied for a disabled person's railcard (UK) last week. I downloaded a simple form written in plain English (1 side A4) & posted it with evidence of my allowances. The following day there was a status report online & the next day it arrived in the post!! Full marks to National Rail. For those who don't know this entitles the cardholder & one other person traveling with them to a third off most rail travel.

Yes, John has one and as long as the line going through Dawlish is intact we find it very useful for getting out of Cornwall.

Hi. At last a post I can relate to. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I do not qualify for this card. Neither, it seems, am I entitled to a disabled parking disc. However, I am very impressed with the service you got and the speed in which your card arrived. It is nice to read something positive for a change. How are you getting on? Things on this Site have changed so I do not post very often. Though I miss the friends I made.
