I am just wondering if any of the South African members with PD maybe were in the Northern Cape (Sishen, Kathu, Kuruman) in the sixties?

We stayed in Sishen from 1959 - 1964 Baie blootgestel gewees aan asbes en kwik. Het gewonder of dit dalk ander mense ook aangetas het en of daar moontlik 'n verband tussen dit en PD kan wees.

Maybe you are asking if the asbestos could have caused your Pd? I am not a doctor, but I feel quite sure that it didn't. Asbestos is not poisonous it physically damages the lungs.

Hi John Engelsman, yes, I am asking whether asbestos could have caused PD and also we used to play with loose mercury as children, and I am sure we did not always wash our hands after playing with in on a table.. Thanx
