Has anyone experienced mood fluctuations associated with PD? Eliminating caffeine and sugar has helped me tremendously! Any other ideas?

i get aggitated at times but think that is the meds. i was trying stalevo for a little while and really wasnt helping. i do feel better when i eat more veggies and fruit and if im taking care of myself. water seems to help, if im just sitting around and not doing anything i get moody also. caffeine does make me tremor more.

I've gone off diet drinks while trying to eat a lot more fruits and vegetables. That is helping me feel better, which helps with my moods.

I kind of went off of this during the holidays and noticed a difference that put me back on the new way of eating.

By the sound of it you have constipation . If you don't empty your bowels this

will make any one moody. Coffee is good for Parkinson's , As it relax,s your muscle's.

On the down side the bowel is a muscle if you have not been for two days stop the coffee and drink water.

Yes...I think you may have answered my question. I have serious constipation. When I have a bowel movement every 3 to 4 days my mood improves quite a bit. I'm going to look into this more......Thanks.

I'm affected by negative people and stressful situations. Dystonia goes from 1 to 10 in no time.

This is also true for me. I try to avoid "toxic" people.

You asked about mood fluctuations. My experience is that I feel down when the meds have worn off. I take Madopar and after waiting 40 - 50 minutes after taking a tab my enery returns and mood improves. I wonder if anyone else has noticed this.

Dunno if it is the PD but late afternoon early evenings have become a rough time for me. Maybe that's why I discovered this site and have been talking to you all, glad to meet you.
