Another question. Everyone seems awfully young here. Is there anyone over 80?

I feel it some times. I wll be some day. I know it! Most people over 80 do not like to use computers - don't blame them. hu.

I don't know what I would do without the computer. It is really hard for me to get around. Balance bad. Don't have any tremors in hands. My tremor is in my mouth, and my teeth set up a real chattering in the night time. And I'm tired all the time, but I guess that is pretty natural. Computer is a life saver..

Thanks for replying. That's wonderful you're 83. Everyone seems so young here. When were you diagnosed? I think I've had it for about five years. I just find it difficult to get around. Very unsteady on my feet, and balance is bad. Didn't have dx till about three years ago.

My husband is 78 and i am 75 . He was officially diagnosed when he was 70 but looking back we have been married 54 years , that he has had the symptons in one form or another all that time . . He was always awkward doing manual things and I use to tell him he was mechanically dyslexic , it was a good job I could my hand at most things . He had bad shoulder /pain stiffness , couldnt walk up hills unless he pushed himself and then I couldnt keep up with him , not stand for long and always had nightmare s , illegible handwriting although he wrote for a living .

Owenbob, I was gratified that you were able to rouse responses from some more "mature" Parkies. At 78 I was feeling out of the mainstream. As for your jaw tremors, I use a plastic mouthpiece, available at any drug store, which you fit to your teeth. It keeps your teeth from chattering and also from being worn down.

Almost - 76 next month & still going.

Physically declining but I don't feel old mentally. Last year I went to see (hear) the Australian Pink Floyd show, then the Brit Floyd show - both fabulous. The day after my birthday I am going to see the Rumours of Fleetwood Mac show.

I think it important to keep your mind as young as you can, I also do logic puzzles to keep my brain active.

Old is an attitude of mind, so think yourself young!

Great to hear from adult people (70 - 80) I too feel out of the main stream. Most of you are so active. I just don't have the energy to do much of anything. I wonder how many of you are dizzy when you get up. And sometimes I can't walk without weaving.

I will be 79 on the 28th of this month. I am caregiver for my hubby who is 83 had PD. Only found out a year ago. He has Lymphoma . It was two year ago that showed up.

One of my sons who just turned 50 asked me how it felt to be 78l I said I've slowed up on outside but inside I'm 30. I now appreciate the old saying.. We grow too soon old and too late smart. Enjoy your 70's. My CD's range from

1050 to the "80's.

I thought I answered this, but I don't see it. I was offering you my congratulations for your outlook on life. You're right, of course, and we should all try to emulate you.

Also looking at your symptoms, they are similar to mine,I have no tremor,my mouth is chattering away, and I fequently stagger backwards

Crosshalls, I am surprised that you were only diagnosed this week. I am uneasy on my feet, and sometimes feel that i"m going over backwards. I have so many of the same problems - dressing, and sitting and standing. I take Sinemit, two three times a day. I think I'm going to change neurologists. This one doesn't seem to be helping much. Good luck.

I was surprised when I saw that there are so many people young or old with Parkinson's. Outside of a Cure This Blog might be The Best Thing for all of us.
