My husband was diagnosed with this,what is the difference,between this and Parkinsons,he now can barely walk his speech is slurred,dribbles a lot,mouth slack,gont deem to be able to get any answers,brain scan normal

Parkinsonism is the same, but is usually used to indicate a combination of other Movement disorders. For example my dx (diagnosis) is Multi-focal (more than just one region affected) Early-Onset (diagnosed earlier than usual) Dystonia-Parkinsonism. So I display malfunctions that is indicative of both disorders.

I am told no drugs or treatment are available,is this so.Seeing Neurosurgeon tomorrow,hopefully may get some answers.Thankyou for replying

parkinsonism is like PSP CBD or MSA : OR PARKINSONS PLUS

Not the same as parkinsons but some characteristcs are present in Parkinsons and PSP etc

misdiagnosis can orccur but there is no final test 4 Psp until death when i fhte brain if donated cna be checked for the tau or lack of it

Parkies have loss of dopamine and a different part fo the brain is afected

PSP has a problem of tau loss

(( am no neuronbut tha t is my understandign of it)

i go to a lcoal Parkinsosn group in town as there is nothign for PSP othe rthatn the pspa meetings 4 timems a yearn liverpool

BUT the psp nurse kat hainae si sgreat and i tis weoll worth joinign the psp assoc

Think its finally solved,taken over a year,definitley Parkinsons,and the poor man could have been on medication all that time
