Has anyone experienced the lack of thirst. It seems that I heard of this occurring with PD. Typically unless i have had strenuous exercise I am not thirsty. I take 50/200 Carb/Levo 4xs/day. If anyone has experienced this how have you dealt with triggering the consuming more water?

Lack of thirst
Just the opposite. I am forever thirsty.
Forever thirsty here too... This is a very heterogenous disease.
Thanks for the quick responses. Maybe there is some other underlying cause not PD related.
I work at getting my husband who has PD to drink enough, he only drinks a little at a time, maybe it has to do with difficulty swallowing. Try Gatorade or juices that you enjoy and try to make it a habit to increase your liquid intake.
I learned in nursing school lack of thirst happens routinely as people age. You seem a bit young, but it is a normal part of aging. I tell my older patients to take fluids like a prescribed important medication, unless they have kidney failure or COPD of course. I saw in the ER just how many problems were immediately relieved just by IV fluids. When I used to work in a nursing home, so much of my day was spent coaxing my elderly patients to come on, one more sip. So I think it just happens to everyone. I am in my early 50's and I noticed it happening to me a bit.
Thanks Bitbit, Your insight makes sense. I often wonder if reduced endurance, strenght aliments etc are PD related or normal aging. Either way I'm fighting all the way. I'm no longer the fastest cyclist in the peleton but i'm in the peleton.
Thanks...Cheers!
opposite here, I am constantly thirsty
