Incontinence and Sex

Incontinence is hard to talk about, right? And then add in the topic of sex!? And it becomes almost downright impossible to discuss - at least I speak from the women's point of view. But it is super important to be able to discuss this with the loved one in our life, because we shouldn't be shutting them out - making them feel like something might be wrong with them.

I just read this article (link below), and it just made so much sense about why we need to talk, and how to get that talk started. So I wanted to share it in the hopes that it will help others take that step.

I have had some people tell me they were terrified of telling their partner about their fears of leaking during sex, and found out that their loving partners were absolutely fine with it all, and helped suggest ways for both to feel comfortable and happy during sex, even if leaks happen.

I also lost erections with bowel and bladder IC as well as two meds I take. I almost never ejaculate anymore. I use adult briefs and plastic pants most of the time.

Also, I don't meet men for sex or romance ever since I became IC

Leaks happen, it’s no big deal. Just use a towel or bedpad and don’t give up on intimacy. Life is too short.
