I would also like an answer to this question. It can be so embarrassing, especially if wearing non-dark colours, when a wet patch appears. I have tried incontinent pads but these are unsuitable. Seems that being left with our rectal stump and the mucus discharge is a topic which has not been adequately addressed. Hope we get our problem answered. I am in the UK

Tried pants with washable liner .Ok, but expensive, as would have to change all pants to these for everyday use. Now trying "ALWAYS" ( brand name) long plus panty liners, they are not too bad, backing quite sticky so they stay in place better. I will probably keep using these until someone comes up with a better idea. Hope this helps .

Always Panty Liners or the cheapest is Co-op own Brand and are very thin so don't show these are good for men as well as cost under 50p for a pack so can be changed more frequently

After trying pants with washable liner(these have to be washed and dried , so would need several pairs of these). I decided that cheap panty liners are more practical, and easily changed. Having said that , 18months after my stoma bag was fitted,I no longer require these as the discharge has stopped. My consultant told me that eventually this discharge would stop,( I really did not believe him as it continued for so long) so have faith.

Had this problem for a couple of years after my second op , but it has now just about stopped. i just make sure i clean the area when changing my bag, and first thing in a morning and last thing at night
