Does anyone know what the following means, from a MRI report, please?

At L4/5 there is a mild disc bulge with annular fissuring/central protrusion indenting thecal sac, abutting left L5 root.

L4/5 is the disc between two of the discs in your lower back. there is a mild bulge towards the left.

I meant add to my earlier comment, I pressed the REPLY button by mistake.

I assume you have lower back pain and that your doc has referred you for a scan to see what’s going on. The scan has found that pain is caused by the spacer between two vertebrae moving and bulging a bit. Probably most people over age 60 have discs like this. You now know that’s it’s nothing sinister.
