In addition to HealthUnlocked, post your request to Parkinson's Caregivers Corner. There are fewer active members than when I joined several years ago. The members will be glad to give you the information you seek and answer your questions.

Hello 09freija, welcome to this community and thank you for your post and query also thanks to Jaykay for her insight. If you also would consider speaking with your Parkinson's specialist nurse and/or the GP you could also receive information from the physio department.

Are there any sufferer's/care givers out in our care community that have experienced the benefits of special exercises please?

Am having tests at present and find the balance games on Wifit helpful. I use yoga deep Breathing and a few yoga and balance exercises daily..... I believe it works

At the leisure centre where I work in Bristol we run a dedicated session for people with Parkinson's, may be worth seeing if there's anything similiar in your area, good luck x

Get in touch with your Parkinson's nurse and they will refer you to a physio who will call at your house and show you excercises and will give you leaflets for you to do them at home. They are very simple excercises for balance.

Have a look at this site laterlifetraining.co.uk/ under the courses link. It is intended for teachers of exercises for older people and older people with balance problems. You can download the leaflets.
