Assistance
What appears to be needed is more advice on coping with mental Illness issues. My mother has been going downhill with dementia for several years but the last two months have been particularly difficult with her delusions and moods being more difficult to manage.
Care and assistance in advice AND financial terms seem to be very locally orientated and from the lack of available guidance or assistance in our area I can only assume that we are in one of the worst areas of the country - Doncaster - for help with managing mental health care.
Yes I totally agree with you that there is not enough support and advice when dealing with mental illness. I was so glad the programme on TV 'Mind over Marathon' was aired. There were two episodes and the programme was focused on people of all ages coping with mental health issues and the 'young' Royal Family - William, Kate and Harry were very good Ambassadors. And also agree that it's difficult with it comes to Dementia as some people when they get it just return to childhood whereas there are those that get angry and sometimes aggressive.
There is not enough out there for carers.
Hi crazyfitness, Thank you for your kind words. All of us at the Medical Advisory Service are pleased to be assisting people on this forum. Best wishes.
