Hello All,

My wife woke up Monday morning with very bad chest pain it was crushing pain every few seconds it even hurt when she swallowed water, saliva. She tried to eat a little bread and when it was going down the pain got worse. By like noon she called her mom who came over with milk of magnesia she took that and then it started to subside to only when she swallowed thru the day it lessened and lessened by the end of the night she was able to have toast with light pain. She has had acid reflux not diagnosed for about 10 years I'd say. Usually manageable with tums. It's been 5 days she has no pain and it hasn't come back. She can eat and drink normal she's hasn't been eating as much as before because she's worried she's going to make it come back but she's been eating toast, pretzels, rice. Last night she had some pain in her lower abdomen like gas pain she said she had a hard time going to the bathroom earlier in the day. She also had some hiccups a few days prior to the pain episode. So has a history of anxieties however she is already a thyroid cancer survivor, that would have gone undetected if not for her persistence. Her check ups for that included an ultrasound of the neck area and blood work, which came back fine. She is scheduled for a scope on Monday (3/1), but until then she is a nervous wreck. If anyone may have some insight as to how to quell her fears or if there is any kind of at home test, thank you very much.
