Good morning to everyone. Long story short about a year ago I was told I had the BRCA 2 gene. Had a mammogram in 01/2019 and MRI 6/2019 which came back good/normal. On 01/16/2020 I went for my 6 month Mammogram. On 01/17/2020 got called back for more images. On 1/21/2020 got told I need a biopsy. So on 1/28/2020 went in for my breast biopsy. On 1/31/2020 got told “you have breast cancer”.

I hear you! I was diagnosed with breast cancer in1990 with the same procedures. (Mammos, follow up, etc.) I had a mastectomy of the right breast followed by 7 months of chemo. Twenty two years later had a second mastectomy followed by immediate reconstruction. The diagnnoses were devastating, but you and I are still here.

I will be having a double mastectomy right off the bat with reconstruction at the same time is the plan. Not sure about chemo or anything like that. I will know a lot more on Thursday. I have come to terms with it just worried cause I have never and I mean never been under the knife. Not sure what all to ask but I have a few days to come up with some questions.

I hear you! It's very normal to be afraid, especially if you have never been under the knife before. Write down all the questions that you can think of and present them to your doctors.
