This is the beginning of my younger sister's cancer journey. A little over three week's ago she was diagnosed with Stage 3 HER2-positive breast cancer with metastasis to her lymph nodes.
I'm a 14-year prostate cancer survivor and a prostate cancer advocate. I created the Cancer Journeys Foundation in 2006 to raise men's awareness of prostate cancer and the importance of early detection.
Jody has worked with me every year at our annual bicycling event in Harrisonburg, Virginia, the Alpine Loop Gran Fondo.
Now it's my turn to help her surmount her challenge.
