I have been suffering with Tinitus for nearly years and recently have been under a endocrine doctor due to very high prolactin levels in my blood. I am now just waiting for a head MRI scan to check on the pituitary gland this could possibly be the cause of my high anxiety and tinitus. Has anyone else been or heard of high prolactin and tinitus.

Tinitus and high prolactin
Hi, I assume you are male , and if so, it is quite rare for men to have a prolactinoma. I had one 20 years ago after a stressful breakup. The adenoma on my pituitary gland was 3cm tall and it compressed my optic nerves so started to affect my sight (thats when I knew something was wrong). I was anxious anyway because of the breakup and 2 young lads to bring up.
I had no surgery and was treated with the drug Dostinex which reduced the adenoma over 3 years. I now also am struggling with T, but this was due to a very loud concert 4 years ago.
Hi Eddy,
I realize your post is several years old but I hope that you are still active on this forum and are doing better. Can you share more about what you learned about what the cause of your high prolactin was and how it was treated? I discovered your post while searching the web for links between stress, tinnitus and high prolactin levels. I am a male and have had tinnitus for decades which worsened in severity last year with the onset of diabetes (micro vascular injury I believe due to uncontrolled diabetes.). A year later diabetes is well controlled but labs flagged high prolactin levels. A recent mri did not identify any ptituaryadenoma. Ultimately I think my endocrine issues are a primary cause for my prolactin levels. However I feel that the stress and health impacts of severe tinnitus play a overall role somehow. Thanks
