My brother has unfortunately lost his battle to alcoholism. In the early hours of this morning 14th December he suffered a cardiac arrest which proved to be fatal. I’m devastated 💔

So sorry for your loss,advice is so easy to give !! But dam hard to accept sometimes,I lost my mum in late October,she was my Rock after all my life broke down,at one point I near lost it and gave up,she used to say to me reflect on the past and never to dwell on it.you take good care,Big HUG.

Thank you all for your lovely messages. He declined all help offered and advice given. His liver had completely failed and wasn’t working at all the hospital had confirmed. He was retaining so much fluid that his lungs were filling quickly meaning his need for o2 had to be increased. The hospital said they didn’t want to drain any of the fluid because the risk of him bleeding was too high. Because his liver was dead the toxins in his blood made his blood extremely bad.I’ll never understand alcoholics I know it’s not as simple to say you need to stop drinking.

The fact that he suffered the cardiac arrest during the early hours makes me think that he died in his sleep. Little bit of comfort especially knowing how scared he was of dying. Thank you all again xx
