Hi, this is my first post. I was diagnosed 10yrs ago with chirosis alcohol related and have been sober since the day of diagnosis. Since moving from Oxfordshire and transferred to Salisbury hospital, I am at a total loss as to how my health is apart from a consultation in January 2018 informing me I'm fine and then out of the blue received a letter regarding the ELD Score 49 and possible referral for transplant in the near future!! Second appt, the clinic was in total chaos, the consultant looked me up and down, no blood results, no physical checks and then said goodbye. This was at the end of May. I advised my GP who was going to request a 2nd opinion at Swindon this was in May and I have heard absolutely nothing!!! Please could I ask...is this normal because I generally feel like I'm fading away...Thank you. Lucy

Scote of 49 is the absolute minimum to be put on a transplant list as its score represents a 1 year mortslity risk of only 9%. So unless your disease progresses further you are ok love 😊

Hi,

With a diagnosis of cirrhosis you should be regularly monitored in line with the National Institute for Healthcare and Excellence (NICE) guidelines. There is a link on the British Liver Trust website but I'll put it at the end of this post.

Also within guidelines, this would be with a hepatologist.

I would take these guidelines with you and ask your GP to request that the appointment be bought forward.

Take care and let us know how it goes.

Hi Jim, thank you so much for this, I feel like I have absolutely no idea what the state of my health is in, and the reality is, is that I don't apart from the letter which came totally out of the blue and now I've learnt that because of my numerous medical problems which includes anxiety and agoraphobia I have been basically put on probation with my new but local doctors because of 2 DNA (which was not intentional)in the past year...I now do not want to go to them but I am 7miles from anywhere that I cannot get to!!! 🙁
