As I replied on the thyroid forum, yes it can.
I am a bit confused then...
Untreated hypothyroidism can raise liver enzymes but GGT is decreased in hypothyroidism and increased in hyperthyroidism. When optimally medicated so that thyroid levels are euthyroid (normal) GGT levels are usually restored to normal.

This above suggests that if your hyper it will be raised but not hypo.
Hi,
I'm not a Medic in any way or form, so I wouldn't presume to pronounce on this.
I don't know if hypothyroidism can cause a rise in GGT levels. What I do know is that a rise in GGT can signal other issues - not necessarily dangerous or urgent, it should be followed up and thoroughly checked out, probably over a period of time ... with other tests done - accordingly - along the way, to rule out all other issues/conditions that can lead to a rise in GGT
I would go back to your Medic, GP, specialist, whoever, and ask for repeat tests. My understanding is that something like this should be monitored over a period of time and tests done for other conditions if and when they look possible.
Hope this helps,
Gritty
