Tunnelled Ascites abdomen and chest drain?

Has anyone here had a permanent drain to abdomen and chest to control ascites?

Hi fastkat , i haven't personally but i do know of someone who had a shunt fitted that drains away the fluid from.the abdomen where it leaves via the kidneys.

She was in a bad way with portal hypertension and had a massive bleed along with ascites. She is coping much better now. Waiting for transplant.

Not many had this then? They propose to join a chest and abdomen drain to a tap for permanent self drainage. 🤔
