A lot of doubt surrounds this book and blog etc. Feeling generally is that the truth behind the story of 'Curing Courtney' is that she went into a medication induced remission which can happen in the treatment of Auto-Immune Hepatitis with the regular treatment of steroids and immune suppressants. No follow up biopsy details have ever been released to show she remained 'cured'. Many people off meds with AIH do relapse within a year. There also remains doubt that some of those mentioned on the 'Curing Courtney' blogs and suchlike were misdiagnosed with AIH in the first place (which is also possible in such a rare and difficult to pinpoint condition).
A lot of doubt about the protocols shared in the book, some report positives whereas the BLT (who host this page) and many hepatologists advise against taking anything that isn't prescribed pointing out that alternative therapies don't go through the same regulated checks as medications and some can indeed be hazardous to the liver.
