My husband has cirrhosis. One of the things his liver doctor told us was that liver problems come with wasting of muscles and he had and to some degree still has that. He has some other issues due to an accident when he was younger, but he is now 70 and was diagnosed 2 years ago, and he is improving his physical abilities in an ongoing way. He mowed the lawn this past summer so we were pleased. He is doing exercises he got for something else fairly regularly and these have helped him in general and he is doing more physical activity around the house - vacuuming, which is nice for me, though I feel guilty now and then. Every little bit you can do will help as long as you don't overdo. See if there are posts here about exercising, ask your doctor if there are other things you can do to help and if you have a doctor that doesn't seem willing then try a different doctor if you can. There are some online posts that give suggestions, but if it requires you to take anything - make sure you double check with a doctor or your pharmacy before taking anything that might harm your liver.
Best wishes to you. mary
A diet containing plenty carbohydrate for fuel together with protein to help maintain muscles is important and do try and exercise - doesn't have to be a gym style mad workout just ordinary but regular activity. Your walking is good. Doctors who specialise in my hubbies condition say that exercise alleveates fatigue (seems contraindicatory but no pushing yourself to get up and do exercise does make you feel better - outdoor exercise even more so plus it is beneficial to your mental health too).
