Hi

I’ve had ablation done and it was back in 2015,the treatment at the time was fairly successful but unfortunately 13 months later on a routine MRI scan there was evidence that a small amount of cancer had returned around 4/5mm but also a larger tumour around 2cm was also found in another area and they couldn’t ablate that area😏I now have 3 tumours in total and have had 3 separate embolisations to slow down the growth as am on the transplant list as a result.i feel very fortunate that the medical team kept a close eye on me as my bloods showed no sign of the HCC returning it was the scan.

How are you coping and what has your consultant said

Best wishes

Huw

Hi

The post is about my husband. He had a HCC treated by ablation in Nov 2016. Recently, another small tumour has been discovered in segment 7. They may not be able to get to it with ablation treatment. For now an MRI is needed to check for any other tumours, then the Hepatologist and Radiologist will decide what can be done. He may be assessed for a liver transplant, we don't know yet.

Thanks.

Hello I had RFA in segment 7 treated a couple of years ago (I have FLHCC) so far the ablated spot hasn't come back.

Hi my husband has NASH. He has a small tumour in segment 7 of his liver which is in a difficult area to treat (under the diaphragm). We've been told that ablation may not be possible because of the tumours site. This is the second small tumour that he's had, both in different areas of the liver. You've given us some hope that maybe they can treat with ablation again. Thanks for that.

Please try not to worry because there is treatment they can do if ablation not possible

Mine was done at Addenbrookes. They had hoped to ablate 2 spots but could only reach 1. But like I said the one they did ablate has never returned.

That is good news Mama41, how did they treat the other tumour? xx

It's stable so they have left it alone. I've had surgery 3 times already so unless it grows they just scan every few months.
