Easier said than done, but don't freak out too much. Yellow stools and bouts of diarrhea are pretty common when drinking that much and when detoxing. Ultrasound should provide some more reassurance. As you know I was in a similar panicked mode and have symptoms that are indicative of severe liver disease but ended up with mild/moderate fibrosis on fibroscan. So take heart and get help with your alcoholism.
Hi
Only your results will show if you have done any damage or not. Whatever happens the past is the past, we can't change it. What you can do though is think about now and the future.
What do you want?
What you willing to do to achieve it?
If a healthy active and long life is your main aim them maybe now is a good time to think about what you need to do.
In terms of scared I can't speak for others but I know I am.
Do I wish things had been done differently by me? Answer, yes some things.
Can I change what has happened? no.
Can I change what I'm doing now? yes. Am I? Yes.
Am I still getting some things wrong? Yes.
Overall have I achieved anything about my health? Yes, I have lost (deliberately) over 16 pounds in weight about 7.26 kilos. I did this in a few months, despite mobility problems.
Am i scared every day something else might go wrong? Absolutely, because in my life and work it usually does. But I have to live my life, and try not to be stupid.
Please remember there is help out there. How about getting the help with stopping drinking alcohol? Get the doctors to explain to you what is happening. The unknown is really scary. Try not to feel like you are facing it all alone. You have this group to link up with. Age, gender, where you live isn't a barrier here we all try to support each other. Hopefully doing those things will make things less scary.
Good luck
Gx
Hi
Hopefully there's no major irreversible damage. I would ask for a fibroscan as well as the ultrasound.
Good luck!
