I am new here and from south Africa. My husband is ill with cirrossis from alchohol
abuse. Every morning I read the comments and they are so helpful and makes me feel better to cope and mostly to understand what he is going through. Kindest regards to everyone and when things get to much I always say to myself lie on your back and look at the stars.

Hi there. I only joined this site fairly recently but the folk I have come across so far have been very informative and generous with sharing their experiences. I too have cirrhosis so can empathise with what your hubby is going through,, and indeed you, it must be tough for you to watch. There is support for you both particularly if you,re new to navigating around the N.H.S. All the best, keep in touch .anne (tillycindy)
Hi nine I myself have cirrhosis of the liver, caused by a hereditary disease I was in so much pain for months and months, then back in May was admitted to my local queen Elizabeth hospital, where after 2 c t scans and Drs scratching their heads they found I have a massive blood clot on my superior mesenteric vein on my liver, the outcome of this they have done transplant assessment however 5 weeks later they still haven't made a descion, as I was previously advised they would not consider me for transplant so I'm just enjoying my life as much as possible which I know sometimes can be hard but the people on here are extremely kind and supportive, take care x
