How has this been diagnosed. It might help us to know what, if any, medical tests you have had.
I ve had lots of bloods but they all come bk low liver function but doc hasn't told me which one I'm on Vitaminwater sip linens and I had a scan which says I have non alcoholic fatty liver disease my liver is fairly large xxxx
If you are in the UK it is your 'right' to ask for a printout of all results. There is a time limit, so after a certain number of days (weeks, I think, but not certain) they may ask for a charge. Also some practices may ask for a token photocopying charge - but mine don't. I usually ask for a copy of my blood tests as soon as I know they are back.
If you get them, you can come back and post on here exactly which ones are being 'flagged up' as giving concern. Then folk on here may be able to help, but it may be better to contact the 'British Liver Trust' - who host this site. There is a link to their website, at the top of this page, where you will find email/phone details to contact and talk to their advisors.
Otherwise I'm afraid I can't help, as in my area of 'liver' curiosity, it's 'high' liver function test results that are of concern.
If you post any results on here, it helps to say the name of the chemical (eg GGT = gammaglutamyltransferase); and the units used for measuring (as different labs can use different units) eg iu/L. Also give the accepted range for each chemical, as these also vary in some labs [eg I think my GP's lab says 7-37 iu/L for GGT, but my consultants' lab has 7-40 iu/L].
Also, the GP / Doc should be telling you more, and he should be offering explanations, advice and even treatment for the fatty liver.
Hope this helps, keep on at them, it is your right to know, and to receive proper advice. However, sadly, in a lot of these cases we also have to go on a steep learning curve, so that we can be our best advocate and defenders. NB Also helps to get a friend of member of the family to become equally as clued up, so they can go to appts with you and ask the questions that you may forget if you are tense.
I see on another forum where you post you say your GP can't explain it either and has referred you to a specialist. Hope you get answers that way. The liver function blood test is usually a combination of ALT or AST (a marker of inflammation) , Bilirubin, Albumin and Alkaline Phosphatase ALP. Are ALL these below normal range or is it just the ALT?
On the other post you say you are diabetic which will possibly be why you have NAFLD, it's not a high fat diet that causes NAFLD, other things such as weight, high carbs, smoking, insulin resistance etc can cause fatty liver.
