Hair fall is not uncommon with Arimidex, but you must also rule out other causes.

However, many patients experience 'thinning' of hair, rather than true hair fall. Some experience a hair fall for a few months and then it stabilises. In a few, it may lead to loss of significant amount o hair.

If it is persistent, you may want to visit your oncologist.

Also, avoid strong shampoos, keep hair short if possible; it may help. Also, ensure a good diet. You know, proteins are very essential for hair growth. So ensure the needed amount of protein in your daily diet.

Cheery, do not worry, just ensure a proper opinion.

Arimidex may not cause hair loss. Please consult your physician for finding out other possible causes

I am here because my mother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She is 82 years old, and had a lumpectomy on August 1, 2012. She, too, is on Arimidex 1 mg daily since the last seven months. She had a sudden drop in hearing in one of her ears (80% hearing loss, on checking), besides increased joint pain, anxiety, etc, which are better known side-effects of the medicine. Her ENT specialist said the hearing loss was due to Arimidex, and reversible once medication ceased, though her oncologist says there's no connection of hearing loss to Arimidex. I was wondering if anyone here knew more about this. Thanks.
