Hey doc, no news from you for quite so... - Breast Cancer India
Hey doc, no news from you for quite sometime. Am going on a short holiday, will be be okay to have little sweets once in a while , please?
hello rgci13
You need not to avoid every bit of sweets,,,,the key is moderation.Avoid cake, pasteries, baked goods, concentrated sugar such as sodas and fruit drinks. You can have modest sweet serving size. Enjoy your holidays ! All the best.
Hi rgci13, I am very much here, in fact, I reply to almost all new posts when they come up. And also posted a new blog in the blog section, please do read it, if you do not already have.
Sweets in moderation is absolutely fine, no problems. As kalpanabakshi mentioned, avoid concentrated sugars. Especially avoid all forms of carbonated and sugared drinks. You can have fresh fruit juices (without adding sugar over and above) if you want.
hello rgci13,just forget all stress and enjoy your holidays.on return post your expierience so that we too can enjoy your holidays.tc
Hello doctor - even some time a small choclate like eclairs of 5 star is also not allowed?? -
as sometimes during travelling or returning back from chemo (my sister has to travel 125 kms for going and 125 kms back - for getting chemo). During travelling if she feels like vomitting she takes one or two small choclates as she is having vomiting sensations also while she travels
kontak, sweets are not a problem at all. The reason patients are advised to avoid chocolates during the first 10 to 15 days after chemo is that, occasionally chocolates can cause sore throat (if in excess, of course). A few chocolates wont really matter. So go ahead, let your sister have them. Dairy milk is better than 5 star. 5 star and Eclairs are sticky and tend to stick to the throat.
And in this very hot climate, ensure that your sister is adequately hydrated while traveling. Let her drink adequate fluids.
