Hi Sebsmum. It is probably a case of bloids being low in either iron or white cells which is a side effect of chemo. That is what happened to me and they kept a close eye on me. You are best off ringing your breastcare nurse and asking what they mean. Take care and all the best with your ongoing treatment. Lainey66 xx

Its really rubbish to have low bloods. I hope it isn't leaving you feeling unwell. They might take them again straight before your next chemo and with luck they will have recovered. I think sometimes they may give your body a few extra days to get stronger before giving you the next chemo. I think there are other options such as reducing the strength of the chemo drugs. As Lainey says, the team should be able to give you an explanation and explain the next steps. I hope it goes well. Caroline xx

I had this problem but they repeated the bloods the day of chemo and they had recovered, so hopefully yours will too. Fingers crossed! Bank holidays mess things up!

the chemo is so tough on any fast dividing cells (cancer cells and hair, mucosa etc), and if chemo has hammered your bloods, just imagine what it has done to any lurking cancer cells!

Take THAT cancer! (and your blood will recover :)
