Hair : Hi everyone just a small enquiry... - My Breast Cancer ...
Hair
I went and had a chat with my hairdresser .. And took her advice .. She understood that the first hair coming through still had "drugs" in it so she kept it trimmed .. Until what she called "virgin " hair came through xx have a chat see what they say xx we are all different X good luck x
I left mine for a good 6 months before i got it cut but really depends on condition of your hair and how curly it is. Even if you just get it tipped when you go... I cant believe how much mine has grown in last 12 months. i tried to dye it just to experiment but it didnt take. Xx
Thank you it's about 6 months now it's very curly at the back & very soft like baby hair not a good look when I first get up in the morning ha ha. Your very brave I've not even attempted to cut it let alone dye it X x
If you trust your hairdresser pop in and have a wee chat before scissors go near it. She/he should be aware of issues with first hair after chemo and be able to advise accordingly. Mine was lovely, I went for regular 'mini trims' as hair began to come in and gradually it thickened and could hold a short crop. Now I can wear a 'bobbed' style and have done for the past few years.
Thanks I will do π
Mine grow back like that
I've been on all sorts of things for rheumatoid arthritis - steroids, Methotrexate, all sorts. My hairdresser always knows when I've changed drugs. It's curly at the moment!
Thanks for all your great comments, I've finally been to my hairdresser had it cut & all the curls at the back have gone just a bit wavy, my hairdresser says it doesn't look like it's going to stay curly, I'm loving it now I've got control over it. π
