Hello everyone, I am new to this site, so I will give you an update on my story. I have an aneurysm on the basilar artery, I had coils and stents fitted 2012, recovered very well, returned to work and got on with life.then two years later started having head pain and was due to go back in hospital to have more coils fitted because Annie was growing again. Just before my op was due I collapsed Annie had ruptured and I had a subarachnoid haemorrhage, it was a substantial bleed and further coils fitted. Again I had a good recovery, I have short term memory, can be unsteady mobilising and tiredness again returned to work, on less hours and less responsibility. Last year, I started having little fits, spent a weeks holiday in Majorca in hospital, it’s now found Annie has grown again, she is pressing on my brain stem, they can only offer me more coils to try and give me up to five years life, the night before my op I collapsed in the shower, now banned from showers unless my daughters home lol, anyway it was found I had a blood clot in front of Annie stopping blood entering so couldn’t have the op,my surgeon says that’s what they wanted it to do for years, just had a recent scan and awaiting to see my surgeon, they don’t expect the clot to stay there. This is where I am up to, I am hoping they may be wrong, having been told it would be catastrophic if it ruptured originally and I recovered well, so fingers and toes crossed I try to live my life daily and am grateful for every day, I wish you all well love Alice xx

You have a lot to cope with! Good luck with whatever lies ahead. At least you are still here to tell the tale. 😊

Thank you, I think I’m just one of the unlucky ones, for most they don’t grow again, I used to stress about the pains etc but I’m not going to let it spoil whatever time I have left and try to stay positive xx
