Hi there,

If condoms are used correctly, so if put on before sexual contact, only used once, they didn’t slip or split and you didn't use an oil based lubricant (like baby oil), they are 82 % effective. There is more information on the NHS website here about how to use a condom safely: nhs.uk/Conditions/contracep...

If you would like to use a more reliable method of contraception, including so-called "fit-and-forget" methods that you don't have to think about every day or every time you have sex. We have a guide to all the methods here but you might want to go to a sexual health / family planning clinic to talk about your options:

bpas.org/js/filemanager/fil...

If you are under-25, there are specialist clinics for young people that can talk to you about contraception and preventing pregnancy. You can find the list online here, just select the box that says "clinics that are only for young people." fpa.org.uk/find-a-clinic

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Katherine
