If condoms are used correctly, so if put on before sexual contact, only used once, they didn’t slip or split and you didn't use an oil based lubricant (like baby oil), they are 82 % effective. If you would like to use a more reliable method of contraception, including so-called "fit-and-forget" methods that you don't have to think about every day or every time you have sex.
