Does anyone know whether insurance companies that cover 'physiotherapy' include Pilates?

I think you would need to ask that specific question of the actual health insurance company but I doubt they would regard Pilates as Physiotherapy. Personally, I have found the You Tube “Pilates for Seniors” by The Girl With The Pilates Mat extremely useful.

what about loooking for a physiotherapist who has an interest in / practices Pilates. I started Pilates years ago after a physio sorted mr back the gave me some basic Pilates exercises to start me off with advice to find a small class with a good teacher. Lots of physios are interested in Pilates.

It really depends on your specific insurance policy. Some insurance companies may cover Pilates like that betterme.world/articles/wal... as a form of physiotherapy if it's recommended by a licensed physiotherapist as part of your rehabilitation plan. I'd suggest contacting your insurance provider to confirm.
