Hi all, I'm new to the site and looking for some help, please.
In November I was rushed to hospital with pneumonia, which I'd never had before and the diagnosis was Type 2 respiratory failure and possible heart failure. I was admitted to intensive care and stayed there for 5 days then onto a ward. While in ITU they diagnosed COPD and I had episodes of SVT where the heart beats really fast, mine was over 200 beats per minute. Both are being handled by medication, although at this moment in time it's not stable.
My question is: With COPD do you get a coldness in the chest, around the heart? Does anyone else have this combination and how long did it take to work out which one was the cause of problem.

Hello Cass, I have been diagnosed with COPD for about 7 years now and have never experienced this. Maybe you need to chat to your doctors? Good luck.
We are not familiar with coldness around he heart/chest - it dosen't stick out as a symptom of COPD.
Can you give us a call on 03000 030 555 and we can try to help you with this?
Cheers
Jo
Hi Everyone and thank you for responding. I saw my respiratory nurse on Friday and it is nothing to do with my COPD. We believe it is a SVT incidence, I see my cardiologist on Wednesday and plan to ask questions!
