I have been using it for approx three weeks but now find It is irritating my chest, I always rinse my mouth after using it as advised by my GP. But the irritation has only come on since using Fostair.

Rinsing your mouth won't have any beneficial effect with regard to the chest irritation you are experiencing. It may be best to contact your GP about this.

I tried Fostair.....it didn’t suit me at all.....my chest tightened up more.

Now it’s on my notes not to take.

Others do well on it, we are all different .

Contact your health professional for advice.

with some combination inhalers you can get bronchoconstriction, the very thing you are trying to alleviate. I found symbicort did it to me so I went back to just using two inhalers, ventolin and becotide. Then the chest clinic suggested changing to fostair, which I was reluctant to do because of the experience with symbicort. However I gave it a go and it has been fine.

However, it does deliver a large dose of steroid because the smaller particles get better absorbed, and I have found that ever since using fostair I bruise very easily, look like a battered wife!

I would definitely talk to your GP or chest clinic about it.

Hi Dangler , I use Fostair myself but only about 4 months. I was told by the pharmacy from the beginning to rinse my mouth to prevent ulcers. For me Fostair is answer answer to my prayers literally after 3,5 years being out of breath on and off.

What you are experiencing is definitely not a relief / therapeutic effect from Fostair. Please do talk to your GP/ Lung consultant.

All the best and keep safe.

Dangler, I don't use it myself but you are not the first on here to raise a question about it. It took a while for me and the Dr to get my inhalers "right". Go back to Dr and discuss an alternative. Happy hunting!

Nope, have used it for three years and find it fantastic. Even the skin thinning and bruising have improved immensely. P

Hi I have been using fostair 200/6 (I also take multiple other medicines to help treat my asthma) for three years now and have only ever experienced chest irritation when I have taken too much during an attack 15-20 puffs 🤦🏼‍♀️.

Just for comparison im 23 and can’t walk up a flight of stairs without gasping and almost passing out at the too at the top.

It’s worth checking with your GP ASAP though, as fostair can be dangerous and has alots of negative side effects on the body!! however your doctor would have believed the positives out weighed the negatives.

When I was prescribed mine I was told to keep a close eye out and any changes ring And book an appointment first thing,
