Have just finished the last of the Wolf Halls, rather than vacuum, dust etc.

I have just started The Mirror and the Light. So good and a chance to read it at leisure.

I know what you mean. I’ve just put the Tai Chi book away as it’s gathering dust. I am cleaning out a cupboard though, just the one as there’s no rush.

Stay safe xxxx 😘

I bought Hilary Mantel's 'The Mirror and the Light' a couple of weeks ago and thinking that my memory is that bad and it's such a long time since I read Wolf Hall that I'd start at the beginning again to better enjoy my new book. At the rate I'm going at the virus will be long forgotten by the time I start my new book. 🙄

Two big fat books those. Take them

shopping with you & use them to beat off other customers

I have the three, but on my Kindle which was too expensive to use as a chopper. 😂

There’s another volume between Wolf Hall and The Mirror and the Light called Bring up the Bodies! I read the first 2 and really enjoyed them. Haven’t managed to get the Mirror and the Light yet but it’s been on radio 4 each morning this week so I’m going to binge -listen to it later. The BBC Sounds app is very good. It’s like iplayer for radio. I listened to Jack London’s Call of the Wild too. An excellent story. I’d recommend this great resource to you if you don’t already use it.

Hope Call of the Wild doesn’t give Midge any ideas!

Enjoy your day,

Love

I have the three, the latest was on Amazon for download on the day of publication. I’ve determined not to start it until I’ve speed read the first two again to get myself up to date. My memory is now so bad that I read some of my old rhymes without realising that I’d written them. I won’t tell you what my opinion of them was.

I can’t get used to listening to books, I’ve wasted so much money on audiobooks trying to get used to them it pains to think of it.

It is probably the same in many homes at the moment Aingeful. It is so easy to get bogged down with our good intentions disappearing. Me? Im trying to be positive and thinking of planning a new routine (yes, I am). I know and need some sort of routine or pattern to my life. I am missing going to the shops for a wander and seeing my friends and attending group meetingdps and its just the beginning! I hope we can all share ideas how to fill our time to help us make the best of things.

I am hoping to sort out drawers and cupboards to begin with. Do some baking and try new recipes. I am already enjoying using some self hardening clay to make plant labels. My daughter has set up Skype so I can chat to family members.

We may find we enjoy a different kind of life when we reflect on it all. I hope other members will send in their ideas how to fill our time as we are all in it together. Take care. Chrys

I’ve been struck by total apathy. I’m bad enough at the best of times.

I need a fairy with a magic wand so I can get on with the really important stuff (reading, browsing internet, watching anything vaguely amusing on tv, & eating!!)

I dug up some weeds yesterday, deep rooted ones which I could only chop off as they are between the paving stones in the front. So they'll be back.

There's a great book being read (abridged like they all are) on R4 at the moment: Shakespeare in a Divided America. Im going to buy it.

Oh dear, me too. Still in pjs, sorry Skis, I meant Loungewear. Just can’t get motivated even though the sun is shining. Only useful thing I’ve done today is do an inventory of my fridge, freezer and cupboards and list everything to see what exactly I have and work out a menu for the week.

Really must get moving. My Fitbit keeps pinging. Best to all

I was dressed by 10 this morning.....but only because I heard the window cleaner rattling his ladder up next door! No shower, straight into clothes so I didn’t get caught. Dirty besom I know.

I went mad the other day . Had no fingerprints left after bleaching the whole bathroom .

Seemed like a good idea at the time. May get another spurt some time soon😂

Keep getting gifts of bunches of flowers and find looking after them more work than I want to do. Mothers Day tomorrow! Feel so lethargic, no energy at all. Too cold a wind for the garden. Keep seeing a layer of dust in yet another place. Re reading Wild Swans, read it years ago but worth reading again, remember very little, just know I enjoyed it. Have read Wolf Hall and Bring up the Bodies, Hilary Mantel is a good writer. Iris x
