It is the corticosteroids in Fostair that causes it, so can low dose Aspirin, both can cause thinning of the skin that causes it. I take both my Fostair having twice the amount (Fostair 200/6).
I will also warn you that the skin thinning can cause skin tears, very easily if you scrape your hand or arm against something, it can peel back your skin. Reaching out to close a door scraping an arm along the edge of a door is one accident that catches me out. If this happens to you seek help. Another is the use of a band aid on a small cut, tearing it off can take the skin with it, much better to use a bandage and the cut will heal quicker.
I always thought it was steroid inhalers, I recently had to cut down to half my dose of Candesarten due to dizzy spells. Lo and behold red bruising gone.
You do get skin thinning from corticosteroid inhaler which means we bruise very easily when we knock ourselves, other medications also cause it, aspirin, other blood thinners. I would show that bruising to your doctor, to me that is excessive bruising.
If you think it only started after using Fostair perhaps changing that med may help. Did you have same bruising on your previous med?
My neighbour has had to pad all her door handles as she bruises easily on steroid inhalers. She knocks herself without realising .
As 2greys says be careful of skin flaps and using sticking plasters, another friend on steroids has the same problem, she protects her arms with stretchy bandage.....not tight ones though.
I think I have naturally thick skin, like my mother and daughter, even though I take oral and inhaled steroids I only have small red bruises. But my skin is peeling off instead, and I try to wear long sleeved tops.
But don't stop using the preventer inhaler, maybe ask your health professional for tips to avoid damage.
My arms are always getting random bruises, and seem to cut really easily. As far as I know it’s caused by steroids. Talk to your gp about it to be sure
My arms are sensitive as well.when. I go in the garden I have to have long sleeves.
Got a bad cut from a cornflakes packet ( pathetic I know) I’m on the sam inhalers as you, also on steroids ,now down to 7 mg at present.
I had some expensive plasters,when Itook it off,it hurt and it tore my skin.
I went tT**** and bought some cheap plasters.
Only problem is,they come off in bed. Might try the bandage thing next time.

I agree that it looks like bruising made worse by steroid use. One trick re using plasters, when you come to remove them, try wetting the area (if able to do so) or rubbing in moisturiser, and peel off gently, rubbing in more moisturiser to release the sticky. It works for me. I was on strong steroid inhalers, ointments, injections, tablets. Now skin better, but incredibly thin and dry. I bruise very easily, have had cataracts removed from both eyes, and have Osteoporosis. I am still here intact (more or less).
I bruise easily .my medication is Sirdupla inhaler, Ventolin inhaler, Spiriva .dont know which one causes the bruising
Usually worse if I have recently taken Prednisone steroids. I try not to take them. As a Lady who is very fussy about appearance I cover mine with a concealer so cant see them . Sometimes I dont even know I have knocked myself but a bruise appears on my hands and Arms .Ok everywhere else. x Sheila.
