Chest pains

My breathing is much better today, only having a few moments when I feel like it's difficult to breathe!! Still got stabbing pains on the upper half of my chest, it is not over my heart so I know it isn't severe! I have a feeling that it may be my costochondritis again, (I had it at the beginning of my chest infection and a few occasions before) hopefully it is just my lungs recovering from the laboured breathing.

I have been taking my paracetamol to keep the pains away and it does seem to be working! Everything seems to be getting better!!

xx

Good, after I have bad chest infections I get pains in my lungs and ribs they get bruised after all the coughing. Hot water bottles help at night I find and it's nice and cosy.

Do ask your dr about having a real asthma test though, lung function test, it's important for them to be sure if you actually do have asthma and to treat it correctly. Don't let them just assume and guess the medication it won't help you.

I'm glad things are getting better. Keep warm.

Ho reading your post - "Stabbing pains" are not usually a sign of Angina or IHD. You said "it is not over my heart so I know it isn't severe! "

Chest pain does not have to be over your heart, my worst angina attack came from, mild(ish) pain on the Right Hand side of my chest.

Most heart pains are dull or heavy or just there, I have never had stabbing pains. The point of my post is, although stabbing pain is very unlikely to be heart pain, always get it checked if it's persistent. Heart (Angina) pain can even start in you arms, neck or jaw - Never assume heart pains are close to your heart, many are "referred pains"

Glad you are feeling better and my post was just for information about the nature and possible locations on heart pain..

Hi thanks for the concern, the pains have been subsiding due to paracetamol, but they are still there (mainly down my sternum now but sometimes all across my chest) so I have a doctors appointment booked so that I can be checked out. 😀

Very wise. Most chest pains are from other things other than angina ect - like GERD or even muscle strains. Always best to have them checked, for peace of mind. Hope you are well soon.
